Swindon Piano Teacher John Wiles DipABRSM

Swindon Piano Lessons - About Me

I am a classically-trained professional pianist, composer and teacher, who is also in demand to play at weddings and private functions in and around Swindon. Since April 2019 I have been the resident pianist at Highgrove Royal Estate & Gardens.

Coming from a musical family, I was introduced to the piano at an early age enjoying piano lessons from nine years old, and went on to achieve ABRSM Grade 8 classical piano performance with a distinction. I completed the ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance in 2014, and have more recently studied with the film and TV composer James Harpham (Tenko), and award-winning jazz pianist David Newton.

I have been a regular entrant to the Swindon Music Festival, winning awards in composition, as well as piano performance in both the youth and adult categories.

I was crowned the New College Composer of the Year 2008, having recorded an album of my own solo piano compositions, In the Key of Me, which has sold successfully at my public performances. I have since been commissioned to compose music for online promotional videos and am currently in the process of writing and recording my second album of solo piano compositions.
